今年4月、輸入カーペットを専門に扱う〈Oshima_Pros〉の企画により、富山県射水市にある古民家をリノベーションしたスペース「House of zutto」で行われたライブ録音作品『Carpet & Sound Rec Vol.2』を〈Kankyō Records〉よりリリースします。演奏は、東京を拠点とする電子音楽家Yumi Iwaki。本作には、約30分におよぶ即興演奏を収めた2曲が収録されています。

“CARPET & SOUND” は、その名の通りカーペットと音楽を結びつけたリスニング・イベントとして、2024年より〈Oshima_Pros〉と〈Kankyō Records〉が共同で開催してきたシリーズです。録音の舞台「House of zutto」の床には〈Oshima_Pros〉のカーペットが敷かれ、吹き抜けの高い天井から柔らかな光が差し込む穏やかな空間が広がっています。

静寂の広がりとともに、瑞々しく煌めく音の断片がゆっくりと漂い、やがてベース音に導かれるようにして、立体的で瞑想的な音響空間が立ち上がっていくA面の30分。有機的な音と冷ややかな質感、柔らかな音色に包まれた世界の中で、静かに響く電子音はコズミックな輝きと自然の気配をまとい、美しい音像を描き出します。
瞑想的なサウンドの中に、次第に瑞々しいビートが溶け込み、音の振動が心地よく身体を揺らしていきます。

B面では、その余韻を引き継ぎながら、より深遠で繊細な音が静かに響きます。クリアな電子音のメロディと深みのあるビートが交差し、世界観をさらに拡張。
穏やかに漂うリズムは次第にダイナミックな展開を見せ、太いベースの上を水脈のように滑らかに走るメロディが、水中をたゆたうような心地へと誘います。

どこまでも広がる奥行きある音の世界。煌めきと自然界の音色、そして電子音がアトモスフェリックに交差しながら、神秘的な音楽体験を紡ぎ出しています。[GRRRDEN]


In April this year, Kankyō Records will release Carpet & Sound Rec Vol.2, a live recording captured at “House of zutto,” a renovated traditional house in Imizu, Toyama, curated by Oshima_Pros, a specialist in imported carpets. The performance features Tokyo-based electronic musician Yumi Iwaki, and the album contains two tracks of approximately 30 minutes of immersive improvisation.

As its name suggests, CARPET & SOUND is a listening event series connecting carpets and music, jointly organized by Oshima_Pros and Kankyō Records since 2024. The recording took place in House of zutto, where Oshima_Pros’ carpets cover the floors and soft light filters through the high open ceilings, creating a serene and intimate atmosphere.

Side A unfolds over 30 minutes, beginning with slowly drifting fragments of sparkling sound that expand into the surrounding silence. Guided by subtle bass tones, a three-dimensional, meditative sonic landscape emerges. Within this organic and airy texture, the quietly resonant electronic tones shimmer with a cosmic glow and hints of nature, painting a vivid soundscape. Gradually, fresh, delicate beats merge into the meditative sounds, and the vibrations of the music gently stir the body.

Side B continues the lingering atmosphere while introducing deeper and more delicate textures. Clear electronic melodies intersect with rich beats, further expanding the sonic world. The gently drifting rhythms gradually evolve into a more dynamic flow, as melodies glide smoothly over a thick bass foundation, evoking the sensation of floating underwater.

The album offers an expansive, immersive auditory world where sparkling tones, sounds of nature, and electronic textures intersect atmospherically, weaving a mysterious and captivating musical experience. [GRRRDEN]
