今年4月、輸入カーペットを専門に扱う〈Oshima_Pros〉の企画により、富山県射水市にある古民家をリノベーションしたスペース「House of zutto」で行われたライブ録音作品 『Carpet & Sound Rec Vol.1』 をリリースします。収録アーティストは、アンビエント作曲家 Chihei Hatakeyama。本作には彼による約30分の即興演奏を2本収録した特別な一作です。

タイトルとなる “CARPET & SOUND” は、その名の通りカーペットと音楽を結びつけたリスニング・イベントとして、2024年より〈Oshima_Pros〉と〈Kankyō Records〉が共同で開催してきたシリーズです。
録音の舞台となった「House of zutto」の床には、〈Oshima_Pros〉が取り扱うカーペットが敷かれ、吹き抜けの高い天井から柔らかな陽光が差し込む心地よい空間が広がっています。その環境の中で鳴り響く、Hatakeyamaによる重厚で深遠なアンビエント・サウンド。エフェクターを用いたギターとシンセサイザーによる即興演奏は、身体を包み込むような酩酊感を伴い、昼下がりの気だるさと融け合うディープリラックスなアンビエント・ドローンを生み出しています。


This April, under the direction of Oshima_Pros, a company specializing in imported carpets, we will release “Carpet & Sound Rec Vol.1”, a live recording captured at House of zutto, a renovated traditional house in Imizu, Toyama. The album features two 30-minute improvisational performances by ambient composer Chihei Hatakeyama.
The title “CARPET & SOUND” refers to a series of listening events launched in 2024 by Oshima_Pros in collaboration with Kankyō Records, combining spaces designed with carpets and music created to resonate with them.
For this recording, the floor of House of zutto was laid with carpets provided by Oshima_Pros. Sunlight filters gently through the two-story atrium ceiling, filling the space with a warm atmosphere. Within this setting, Hatakeyama’s profound ambient sound unfolds—an immersive blend of guitar, effects, and synthesizer improvisation. His performance evokes a sensation of weightless intoxication, merging seamlessly with the languid mood of a quiet afternoon, creating a deep and enveloping ambient drone.
